About Solomon Islands

Alvero Mendana, the Spanish sailor who discovered the islands marveled at the wonders these islands had to offer, and named them the Solomon Islands making reference to the wealth of biblical King Solomon.

The breathtaking tropical beauty, the strikingly unique flora and fauna, alongside the diversity of the exotic culture still practiced are but a few of the reasons to visit the Solomon Islands.

Among its many treasures, the Solomon’s boast the world’s largest salt water lagoon in Morovo, as well the world’s second largest atoll in Ontong Java. The crystal clear waters are perfect all year round making it a snorkeling and diving paradise.

The Solomons is made up of 992 islands which are divided into 9 provinces. Guadalcanal(Honiara as the capital), Central, Choiseul, Makira, Malaita, Isabel, Rennell and Bellona, Temotu and Western Province.
